John Painter, Technology Fellow

 For the past 13 years, John Painter has worked in financial services information technology, holding various positions at Citigroup and Credit Suisse. His background is primarily in capital markets trading systems and large-scale corporate cash management infrastructure, including trading applications systems and server support, database support, and client-facing applications infrastructure end-to-end support. As a system administrator, manager, and DBA manager, John has support and engineering experience with Microsoft’s Windows desktop and server technologies, including desktop and server

virtualization, remote computing and hosting, SQL Server, Solaris, SQL Server, Solaris, AIX and Linux, Sybase ASE, Oracle, and Oracle RAC.

At Credit Suisse, John led the global equities infrastructure team, including trading floor desktop support, server support, and database support for all equities applications. He later transitioned to the IT Research & Development team, where he continued to provide support to equities and other business groups within the Credit Suisse investment bank and private bank, supplying innovative technology solutions, strategic technology planning, and advanced trouble shooting and problem solving services.
